Nutritional Education for Kids

Hands-on cooking and food-science fun with the La Mesa Spring Valley School District — where healthy eating becomes an adventure.

In partnership with the La Mesa Spring Valley School District, SciCook turns the after-school classroom into a kitchen — and a laboratory. Each week, our educators help elementary students discover that whole foods can be delicious, exciting, and entirely within their reach.

Food habits formed in childhood tend to last a lifetime. When kids learn early that healthy food tastes good and makes them feel good, they build relationships with nourishment that protect their health for decades to come.

How It Works

1

Cook

Students roll up their sleeves for weekly cooking demonstrations, preparing simple, healthy snacks from scratch.

2

Explore

Interactive food-science games teach where food comes from and what it does for our growing bodies.

3

Share

Kids take home recipe cards so the learning continues at the family dinner table.
